London and South scaffolding was established in 2009 by the present managing director and owner Gary Peck. We are a professional forward-thinking business that places its clients both front and centre in the area of customer care.
The company also places an extremely high value on skills and training. All staff and operatives are qualified for the tasks they undertake.
Every scaffolder within the business will hold a Construction Industry Scaffolding Registration Card (CISRS). This qualification requires several years of training and provides the assurance that our team has the appropriate skills to undertake the work.
Coupled with this we are proactively encouraging younger people into the industry with fully funded apprenticeship schemes, together with encouraging others to gain further management skills through the Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) and the like.
As part of planning for the future, and to sustain the family connections and values the business presently enjoys, we have employed younger members of the family to join the business as part of the succession planning philosophy.
It is this strategy that has over the years has generated, a considerable amount of repeat business. With many clients returning time and again attracted by our professionalism and “can-do” attitude. Something that we are extremely proud of.
A substantial proportion of our work is of the type that can be constructed using the skills that our scaffolders have acquired in training and through experience. This type of work is generally covered by codes of practice and particularly compliance guides issued through the National Access and Scaffolding Confederation (NASC) In most cases these guides or “compliance sheets” as they are known are suitable for the erection of scaffolding to a wide range of scaffolding situations across the business in general.
However, there are projects where the use of the NASC compliance sheets or the skills of our teams will not suffice alone. It is those schemes that are complex logistically and technically where we are strongest and are required to be innovative and flexible in resolving the challenges and demands of the project in question
That is when we work closely with our dedicated design teams to provide the most technically efficient and safest solutions to challenging projects in the most cost-effective and professional way.
